Grateful for All of You
Happy Wednesday!
We won’t see you at the market this week, but we will be back with all the wonderful things next week!
In the meantime, I wanted to address the holidays and how they can affect our mental health.
The days are shorter and colder and this can affect our moods, paired with many gatherings with family members can get stressful.
This website has a few tips for managing your mental health during the holidays. https://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/2021/11/five-ways-to-take-care-of-your-mental-health-this-holiday-season/
If you are having a mental health crisis or someone is challenging your sobriety, please contact a safe person for you. If you do not have that support, please call or text 988, the Suicude and Crisis Line. You can also chat with them online here: 988lifeline.org
The holidays can be hard when we live in a place that does not have food readily available. Living in a food desert becomes much more apparent when food is supposed to be so abundant and it isn’t. We were at Open Streets Macon November 6, and our activity was to draw your favorite food. The nearest grocery store to that neighborhood is a little over 3 miles away. Our mission is to make food more equitable and accessible in neighborhoods that do not have ready access to a grocery store.
