This week's blog is a little short because I'm out of town until Thursday. I still wanted to make sure you had all the information about what we're having at the market though!
This week at the market:
Katie is out this week, but will be back next week. Mr. Porter is taking some time off as well, but will be back with lots for us later in the season. Loy has honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, onions, peppers, squash, plums, strawberries, and peaches. Ms. Eva is bringing her wonderful organically grown dried herbs (rosemary, mullein, basil, echinacea, sage, bay leaves, poultry seasoning, and chai mix), fresh sweet basil, heirloom cherry tomatoes, roma tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, banana peppers, squash, zucchini, cucumber, okra, cayenne peppers, and roasted peanuts.
We also have wonderful vegan baked goods and non-vegan baked goods and wonderful arts and crafts for you as well!
This summer heat can be a lot, we do have a cooler at the market tent that has cold water if you need it. We are not charging for it, but we would welcome any donations to help us keep this going throughout the summer.

Peach Caprese Salad
I love summer produce! Peaches and tomatoes are wonderful together! And even better with basil! Grab a bit of each from Ms. Eva and Loy, and put this simple, but flavorful salad together!
Ingredients
1 (10 oz.) cherry tomatoes, halved or quartered or 2 large tomatoes, cubed
2 peaches, cubed
4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cubed
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, (I used about 25 small leaves), torn
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, (or balsamic glaze)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a medium bowl, toss together the cut up tomatoes, peaches, mozzarella, and basil leaves.
Add olive oil to bowl, and lightly toss together.
Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the top of salad.
Sprinkle salt as desired.
