No Market This Week

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! There is no market this week to give us and our vendors some much needed rest. We hope you are able to take some time to rest and enjoy your families as well!

This leads me to a term I learned a few years ago called “hygge.” This term was really popular a few years ago especially during the winter months, but it’s a concept more about how you spend your time. “Hygge is about cosiness and surrounding yourself with the things that make life good, like friendship, laughter and security, as well as more concrete things like warmth, light, seasonal food and drink.” There are numerous Pinterest boards about hygge, most of which are winter themed. It really is more of a year round concept though. Here are a couple of links I really liked about hygge: https://www.scandinaviastandard.com/what-is-hygge/

My family and I choose to stay in and just be still. We don’t go places that make us more stressed than the holidays can already be. We have little routines that we do like decorating the house minimally, playing movies we love, lighting scented candles, making warm foods that we really love to eat so that it warms not only our bodies but our spirits as well. What do you do to make this time special to your family?

This time of year can be hard for many people and I encourage anyone having a hard time to reach out to those who can help. Here are a couple of links for resources:
