Fall Finally Fell!

If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
— African Proverb

It got chilly! It may be near the end of October, but fall is finally happening!

October is THE awareness month. We have all these things to be aware of this month. It can get a bit overwhelming, but it's important to be aware of them all year. One such issue is bullying. We have all probably been a victim of bullying at some point and we know that's never good for one's mental or physical health. It's National Bullying Prevention Month and I wanted to take a moment to address that.

Bullying is more than a physical in-person act, it often occurs online or via text. It's important to educate ourselves about where and how bullying occurs. That can look like making sure there are safe spaces in school, talking about bullying at home, being out in the community spreading awareness about it, or privately seeking help.

There are many resources within our community that I will link here.

This week Loy’s is bringing apples, muscadines, scuppernongs, plums, mangoes, tomatoes, collards, turnips, rutabagas, tangerines, and yellow meat melons.

This week's recipe is one that combines a number of fruits and vegetables! Braised Fall Greens with Apples. I love this combo of sweet and savory. It's a great way to get your veggies and warm yourself up! I'm all for a good salad, but when it gets cold I like to eat warm foods.
